SCENTER

Terms of Use

Effective October 20, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Ridwan Mohamed (“Scenter”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Scenter mobile app and related websites (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Scenter

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to enter into a binding agreement, or have a parent or guardian’s permission. Scenter is about fragrance. Where a law restricts access to fragrance products by age, it is your responsibility to follow it.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Scenter on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and the rules of the app store you got it from. We own or license the app, its code, design, text, scoring methods, lessons and compilation of data. All rights not granted to you are reserved.

3. What you may not do

4. Scenter Plus subscriptions

Scenter offers optional paid features (“Scenter Plus”) as an auto-renewing subscription. Prices and what is included are shown in the app before you buy.

If you live in a place with mandatory consumer rights, such as a cooling-off period, nothing in these Terms limits them.

5. Your content

You may add custom fragrances, name and save blends, and send feedback or fragrance requests. You keep ownership of what you create. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your feedback and requests to run and improve the Service, without owing you anything. Do not send us anything unlawful, or that you do not have the right to share.

6. Information in the app is for general guidance only

Scenter shows fragrance notes, accords, layering scores, “closest match” and “smells like” percentages, bridge suggestions and similar insights. These are estimates produced from published information and our own methods. They are opinions, not facts or guarantees. How a fragrance smells depends on your skin, the batch and many other factors. See our Fragrance and Safety Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Third-party brands and content

Scenter is an independent app. It is not made, sponsored or endorsed by any fragrance house, designer, perfumer or retailer. Fragrance names, brand names, bottle designs and related marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products being discussed. The “similar to” and “closest match” features describe likeness in notes and accords, not that one product copies or is a version of another. See our Copyright and Trademark Policy to report a concern.

8. Updates and changes to the Service

We may update, change, suspend or stop any part of the Service at any time, including features, the catalogue and the prices of paid features. We try to give notice of significant changes. We are not responsible to you if a feature is changed or removed, but if you have prepaid for a period of a paid feature we remove, we will handle it as the store and the law require.

9. Apple and Google terms

If you get Scenter from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the extent it does not conflict with these Terms. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, to handle claims about the app (these are our responsibility), or to investigate intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. If you get Scenter from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that the information in it is complete or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our owners, contractors and licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us through the stores for the service in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $50.

Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and reimburse us for claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service. This does not apply where your local consumer law does not allow it.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Scenter at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal risk. Sections that by their nature should survive, including 5, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 15, survive termination.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. When we do, we will update the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app where we can. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario for any dispute, except that where your local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts, that right is not affected. Please contact us first at scenterapp@gmail.com so we can try to resolve any problem informally.

16. General

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or reorganisation. We may send you notices through the app or by email if you have contacted us.
